Brooklyn-born rapper Lil’ Kim slapped her former lawyer and business partner with a $9 million lawsuit yesterday.
Kimberly Denise Jones, 38, accused attorney Sunny Barkats and pal Andrew Ro of swindling her out of “valuable trademark and branding rights” related to liquor, makeup, and fashion endorsements, according to a Manhattan Supreme Court suit.
Barkats promised to deliver “multimillion dollar deals for [Kim’s] brands in the cosmetic and perfume business,” the songstress claimed in the suit, but never delivered.
Barkats called the suit “another frivolous attempt by Lil’ Kim and her attorneys to get out of what is otherwise a binding agreement,” and predicted the court would toss her claim.
