After initially building anticipation for his forthcoming sixth studio album “X” by saying it would feature a collaboration track with his on-again-off-again girlfriend Rihanna, Chris Brown has now apparently changed his mind about their duet being in his new LP. The song, entitled “Put It Up”, was not included in the album’s track list, according to an unnamed source.
“Just saw the working tracklist for ‘X’ yesterday — Rihanna is not on there,” the source reports. “Record execs wanted that song on there, but Chris said he would rather not and wouldn’t allow the record to be released unless they took it off.”
Knowing it would be a hit, the source says the record company executives are still trying to convince him to reconsider, even dangling a bigger payday for the hip-hop star to make him change his mind, which at this point is bent on excluding RiRi from his work. There’s still a chance though that the song may still make the cut since “the record hasn’t been presses yet.”
If not for Breezy & RiRi’s most recent break-up, the R’n’B record “Put It Up” could have been their much-awaited follow-up to their 2012 track “Nobody’s Business”, a cut off Rihanna’s album “Unapologetic”. Recording it was “effortless” according to Brown, which supposedly is not a word that can describe their relationship, since Breezy says RiRi is “too needy” and demanding of his time.
