A report by the New York Daily News has revealed that Hip Hop entrepreneur/rapper Diddy is just one of many well-known celebrities, companies, and residents that collectively owe the city of New York over one billion dollars. Diddy and Bad Boy Entertainment owe almost a million dollars to the city for illegally placing promotional posters around the city.
A rep for Bad Boy has explained to the city that the $996,000 bill was paid years ago by a partnering company. Their claim is currently under review.
Money owed to the city has reportedly resulted in the funding for schools and day care centers being cut.
“We are going to find these people,” the Finance Commissioner of New York City, David Frankel, explained to the New York Daily News. “We’re going to turn them upside down by their ankles and we’re going to shake them until the money comes out of their pockets.”
Doug E. Fresh and Remy Ma’s defense lawyer are also one of the many people that owe money to the city as well.
